Denpa collection for sale!

UPDATE 2019-09-28: SOLD!!! Watch this space for an eventual online project which may feature parts of this collection. Thanks again to EVERYONE who contacted me, whether for a few CDs or the whole thing, or just to drop some kind words my way. Special mention to all the denpa thread anons. Much appreciated!

Hi folks, long time no talk! I've been busy with real life stuff and although I still check into the latest denpa news every once in a while, I'm closing a big chapter in my life. I've thought about this for a long time and the day has finally come: I'm selling my denpa collection! Of course I'm doing this to fuel my untappd addiction to put my kids through college (yes, that'll do), but I'd like to think someone out there will really enjoy owning these CDs rather than them just staying in the closet for another 5 years.

Named by yours truly, now yours to own!

You're looking at more than 200 items from the 2007-2014 era, mainly CDs but also a fair amount of swag such as bags, books and posters too. The crown jewel is by far the Extravagantly-Extra-Equipped Edition of MOSAIC.WAV's 5th album, but there's plenty of obscure trudenpa stuff too. You have near-complete collections from Odenpa Studio, 33.turbo, ちぃむdmp☆, Holic Service, Birdtune, etc.

Psst... I heard you like odenpa studio?

Everything is in great-to-mint condition, with the overwhelming majority of items still being sealed. A few of them have cracked cases (very minor), mostly due to shipping from Japan. Almost all of these were bought directly at Comiket/M3/you name it.

I've inventoried every single item in this handy Google sheet, including closeup pictures and links to the best source of information I could find about each item. I can absolutely take more pictures or provide more details on request.

Now regarding price. Shit man, I don't know. What I do know is it will probably cost a buttfuck and a half to ship this stuff over to your place. All items are located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in case you can do local pickup. Otherwise, I want to say I am flexible and open to offers and I am neither expecting a couple hundred nor a couple thousands dollars. But.... somewhere in between.

"And now for my next number, I'd like to return to the classics"

We all know Miku is out to rule the world (Project DIVA F hits North America later this month), but this time she will use denpa to seduce and conquer! After a splendid first compilation and an award-winning solo album from circle owner cello, beatlogic returns with yet another brainwashing winner!

The masses have demanded a followup to "シュミックトリガ!" almost immediately after the first one came out and this is exactly what we got with 「シュミックトリガ2-Psychocrush A-POP!!-」, right down to 70% returning composers. P are out, but were replaced with らいふ, ピノキオP and...

azuma
Phasma
cello

かめりあ opens the party with a sharp yet trippy number that hits with a huge breakdown. Odenpa's contribution is immediately recognizable, their signature sound unmistakable. You could say the same about 盛るP of course, although extreme cacophony is his signature. Will this song be featured on the next MilliRobo.beta?

azuma's contribution will also be featured on SEGA's 2014 Project 575 Vita game, although this is a special version using 結月ゆかり and 蒼姫ラピス just for beatlogic's compilation. ふなむし has a unique soft and spacey sound and I can't wait to hear the full version because it seems to be full of surprises. Phasma follows adequately with a slower electronica tune laced with pico pico elements in the background.

My man cello cranks the BPM right back up with his Akiba-themed symphony. I really can't stress enough how much his solo album belong in every denpa fan's collection, but this is another great example of his creativity and attention to detail. Believe it or not, this guy started doing hardstyle touhou arranges on the side. Hopefully this wasn't just a one-off because I'd totally buy a full album!

P had one of the most memorable songs on the previous compilation and this one is a great successor (check out the full length PV). This may be ピノキオP's first beatlogic track, but he is certainly not new to the scene! The veteran will also be on SEGA's vita title but for now his new song 「こどものしくみ」 is exclusive to this compilation.

Finally, you might remember らいふ for his delightful 「DENPA for JAPAN」 song composed shortly after the Tohoku tragedy, but this new one is a lot happier and a perfect finish to a perfect compilation. Albums like this show all too well that the original virtual diva still is far from done playing with our minds. All hail our Miku overlord!

Denpa no Sekai 2012 Sampler

It's that time of the year! Let's take a good long look at what 2012 brought to the table. Once again I'd like to thank mandichan and mossya for their collaboration. I'd also like to make something very clear: if you (yes you!) feel the itch to contribute (articles, reviews, news reports, etc) to this site, then please contact me by all means! It's been especially though to come up with content these days due to real-life contingencies, but we'll keep trying our best to spread the good word. Also feel free to check out our 2009, 2010 and 2011 samplers, as well as this year's underrated albums.

Once again I'm sorry to report that the Japanese Denpa Song Awards aren't happening this year as well. Maybe we need to look into opening polls and taking over next year? Speaking for myself, I certainly wouldn't mind because picking 12 songs to showcase is a lot harder than it seems! I'd be remiss not to mention this year's Best Erogame Song poll, which is always worth checking out. Strangely there just doesn't seem to be any denpa involved, even though I can think of quite a few songs that would belong on there. Doesn't seem to be against the rules either, oh well. That's where we come in... introducing the 2012 Denpa no Sekai sampler!

Singer:
Composer:   ARM
Album: Crimson Tempest
Comments:
denpanosekai: I happen to be a REDALiCE fan and I've often talked about crossover potential between denpa and J-core. ななひら also performed on a couple of ALiCE'S EMOTiON albums as well, so I look forward to more collaborations in the future. As far as this song is concerned, it is yet another example of ARM's endless quest for perfect production values. It's wild stuff to be sure, but this guy goes beyond OCD and jam-packs his creations with countless details at every microsecond.

mandichan: I had the pleasure of first seeing Momiji live and getting to talk to her at the last denkyun event. Love the humorous tone of voice to her spoken lines. Her and ARM are definitely a dynamite combo melting the ice in Hokkaido!

Singer: SHAKING PINK
Composer:
Album:
Comments:
denpanosekai: I'll come right out and say that 「しぇいきんぐ!」 is my personal album of the year! Of course we went with the "theme" song (absolute banger from Child Prodigy かめりあ) but there's something special about every track. The composers did a tremendous job in creating songs that perfectly match each girl's personality.

mandichan: SHAKING PINK is really a denpa lover's dream come true. Can't wait to see what else they are gonna come up with, and I hope they'll have more and more live performances too! The energy of this song is just crazy. Can never get tired of listening to it!

TitleW.W.D
Composer:
Album: W.W.D/
Comments:
denpanosekai: Simply put, a denpa opera! Technically, this song is from a 2013 single but the video did come out in late 2012. Another splendid composition from 前山田健一 whose multifaceted talents never cease to amaze.

mandichan: Dempagumi.inc truly has come up from nowhere to become a denpa legend. Who would think I could hear a true denpa song playing while browsing for snacks at the convenience store? This song really lets each member express themselves in a way that is somehow extremely emotional while also still denpa and fun. The seriousness that lies behind the otaku-themed lyrics reminds me of none other than the groundbreaking days of UNDER17. I love songs which dare to be serious about things "normal people" might find laughable.

Singer:
Composer:   KuKuDoDo
Game:
Comments:
denpanosekai: It's KuKu-motherfucking-DoDo, what more can I say? I love the man and look forward to his solo album this year. This is yet another masterpiece Touhou album from Holic Service and Birdtune, but this particular song highlights his aggressive arranger style with full-on gongs and razor-sharp synths.

mandichan: Sweetie pie Riko is a perfect fit for singing KuKuDoDo's awesome compositions. Considering Holic Service is actually based in Osaka, the dialect is a perfect choice too. How do they keep making so many awesome songs? I don't know but I'm not complaining!

Title
Singer:
Composer:
Game:
Comments:
denpanosekai: "Everyone's Bro" Satsuki Ga Tenkomori finally got his eroge debut! I was quite surprised to learn that the vocals were from 綾瀬理恵, let's just hope this won't be the one and only collaboration between those two. If you're looking for a longer and family-friendly version, check out this self-cover.

mandichan: It's unfortunate Rierin doesn't seem to be collaborating with ave;new anymore, but it's refreshing to hear her working with other artists too... especially Satsuki! This one song shows a nice range of her voice smoothly melding with Satsuki's compositions.

Artist:
Composer:
Album:
Comments:
denpanosekai: Odenpa have come a long way and certainly earned their spot on our annual sampler. This track is an interesting personality medley (I especially love the Big Sister parts!) on top of an explosive, slap-bass-heavy ベイビー・レモネード composition.

mandichan: Odenpa Studio loves to mix things up with lots of collaborations and exploration. This may just be their weirdest song yet, and I love it for that. The way the spoken lines intertwine with the singing and chanting is pure perfection! I can't get enough of the way the different layers build up as the song goes on, there's always something interesting to listen to.

Title
Comments:
denpanosekai: 「WONDER MOMO-i」 used to be my go-to 桃井はるこ song when trying to nudge potential new fans in the right direction, but Akiba Ranger might just take over this coveted position! It's incredibly catchy and it doesn't hurt that it's associated to such a great show that revolves around Akihabara, daydreams and delusions! I also love the growls by 山形ユキオ who is a fucking beast!

mandichan: I might be a huge Momoi fan and a huge denpa song fan, but in general, I don't find most of Momoi's songs that denpa-ish and I like them in a different way... but when Momoi does decide to make a song I consider to be denpa, you better believe I am overjoyed! This song has the perfect mix of hotbloodedness and cuteness, plus a great sense of humor to the lyrics. And don't even get me STARTED on the show it's from! Admittedly I just watched the show at first because Momoi sang the opening, but in the end I loved the show all on its own. Can't wait for season 2!

Composer: U-ske
Anime:
Comments:
denpanosekai: ちぃむdmp☆ always have a great variety of musical genres on their album and this is certainly a great example of their "sweet" style. Their voices come together perfectly thanks to a silky-smooth piece from regular contributor U-ske. At this point I'm just hoping for a fifth album!

mandichan: So many good songs from Team dmp but this is the one I've looped the most. The composition showcases their voices perfectly and utilizes the fact that it's a duet perfectly with nicely placed solo lines.

Title
Artist:
Album: THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER 002
Comments:
denpanosekai: I personally haven't followed the IDOLM@STER series since their chiptune albums, but sexy new songs like this one just blow me away and suck me right back in!

mandichan: Being a "mobamas" cute P since the early days, I was absolutely PSYCHED when they announced the first round of character CDs would include "anzuchang". And the simple hiragana title made me know it would be an awesome denpa song. The final song totally lived up to my expectations, being a great anthem for all the NEETs out there. So anyway, gimmie her Halloween SR for promoting this song!!

Title
Artist: MOSAIC.WAV
Album:
Comments:
denpanosekai: It feels like these guys are really due for another big anime or eroge blockbuster, but MOSAIC.WAV certainly haven't lost their touch! You really need to put on a pair of headphones and close your eyes to really appreciate Kayapi's insane technique.

mandichan: This song after Anzu's song! The irony! OK it was totally by accident but I love it! Mobile games like Cinderella Girls have made people across the world fork over big money towards gambling for JPGs which MOSAIC.WAV lampoons in this song, and even explained the odds in the book included with the limited edition. The arrangement and vocals are of course up to MOSAIC.WAV's high standards of quality making a fun song anyway you look at it. (By the way, I'm a proud "mukakin" non-paying player!)

Title
Singer:
Composer: きくお
Album: MagiQute!!
Comments:
denpanosekai: I may be a Lady ななひら fanboy for life, but I'm also a straight-up sucker for anything きくお-related! This is litterally one of the first things I look for when I read about a new album: "Is there a きくお song???" and this one has got to be one of his top songs yet! They completely tore apart the golden rules of song construction yet managed to assemble a freaky "frankenpa" monster that can stand on its own just fine.

mandichan: Kikuo knows what us denpa fans like - skip the junk, we are greedy people who want nothing but the good parts! Meanwhile us Nanahira fans are truly blessed to have so many wonderful releases from her this year. And fans of both? Well they are going crazy for this song no doubt!

Artist:
Album: MagicalBeam
Comments:
denpanosekai: I think 森永まみ is doing a lot of things right with her random singles, but I also think that she needs to graduate from chika idol world and concentrate on a full-length album! She's got a great voice and neat ideas, so keep an eye out for her.

mandichan: It's no secret I am a huge fangirl for Morinaga "Mamipyon" Mami. Rather than her leave the world of chika idols though, I want more denpa fans to saturate the chika idol fandom and cheer her on, and expand the chika idol world into a denpa paradise!! Oh, sorry, I'm just dreaming. Anyway, any gamers out there can surely relate to this chilling tale of corrupted save files. Mamipyon has a lot to offer denpa fans so make sure to check out her songs any way you can.

Top 3 most underrated and overlooked denpa albums of 2012

About the same time last year, we took at look at three fantastic albums which seemed to have flown right under everyone's radar. But what exactly makes these albums "underrated" or "overlooked"? Pure personal opinion. I can't exactly walk into every denpa fan's home and inspect their CD library to see what they're missing out on. Rather, I came up with this "top 3" based on personal introspection and some degree of extrapolation. I am, after all, privy to certain information such as site searches, retweet popularity and personal queries, all of which helped me establish the following as niche-in-niche.

It's no secret that I fucking love KuKuDoDo and everything that this crazy genius comes up with. I've been following Holic Service and Birdtune ever since both labels started and haven't skipped a single album. One of my personal highlights of 2012 was an interview with this legendary composer. Four years down the line... one might wonder why they aren't "bigger" after releasing so many albums. Live concerts are few and far between and both labels often seem to go on hiatus or information blackout. Some dark rumours on the internets probably aren't helping, also it's pretty obvious that the whole New Wave-cross-denpa style isn't for everyone. The fact that most of their new songs are Touhou arranges suggests that their few original albums didn't fly off the shelves (or M3 tables).

The ridiculously-titled 「妹達のお尻が臭かったので、戦わせることにした!」 is one of 2012's most powerful Touhou denpa albums, but it didn't seem to light up the interwebs with red-hot hype. It's packed with quality vocalists, some all-star guest arrangers and it features the very best of KuKuDoDo this far. As far as I'm concerned, 2009's Holy Grail 「エネルギー冷麺 お受験せんそ→☆」 has been surpassed and that was no small feat. However, I just don't see that many people ranting about the new album and its crazy songs. I mean, weren't we all waiting for lyrics about SQL love injection?

Of course, this doesn't mean that their albums don't sell at all; we wouldn't be getting new Holic Service and Birdtune releases if they were produced at a loss. In fact, I feel that they have a very dedicated fanbase that does not necessarily grow with every passing year, else we'd be getting nanano-flavoured lollipops at 7-eleven. At least loyal listeners have been rewarded with the promise of a solo KuKuDoDo album sometime in 2013, as well as some "exciting" stuff for the next M3. So I'll just take what I get and keep doing my best to spread the good word, hopefully getting them new fans in the process.

cello (of beatlogic records) released a heck of a solo single in August 2012. This is denpa for the punk rockers out there. Fast as fuck, crazy as hell. Probably too weird for the masses, but exactly what yours truly expects from wacky Japan. In 12:22 minutes, cello delivers 10 furious tunes (you work out the average length). Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but many tracks seem to be above 250BPM, which is some speedcore-level shit. Most song structures indicate that cello is probably a fan of old NYHC bands (heavy guitars, relentless drums, circle pit parts) so he gets infinite respect points on that one.

The other, not-guitar-driven category of songs clearly shows his love for MOSAIC.WAV and respect for other contemporary composer peers. I'm sure Kayapi would appreciate the ultra-silly 「擬音祭」 and title track 「eLekSoNicRusHeRRRRRR!!!」 would definitely get a stamp of approval from t+pazolite. This single is definitely hardcore for the hardcore, whether you're into punk or electronica (or both). Not a single sleeper here, much less stinker. And get a load of that cover!

Did I mention that the vocals are all 初音ミク? No, that's because for once I'm not bothered at all that a real human isn't singing. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love what Lord Tenkomori and Master Katahotori can produce, but I much prefer cute girls giving it their best shot. In fact I would still like to see what cello could accomplish with real vocals, but as far as vocaloids are concerned, this is some of the most extreme usage I've ever heard. The guy's a hard worker, check out his new label "No Touch Records" if you're really into off-the-wall vocaloid stuff.

For all these reasons and more, it's pretty sad that his skills aren't being recognized. When I asked him over on twitter if there would be a second volume of his first compilation album 「シュミックトリガ! -New wave of A-POP-」 he seemed to indicate that he'd have to burn through remaining copies first. I've done my part and really hope to hear more from this creative composer in the near future, so consider doing yours if you like what you hear!

MilliRobo.beta got together in early 2011 and released their first album 「ミニロボベータ!」 almost two years later, in December 2012. Since it was released just a month ago, does it really qualify for this top 3? Sure, because I'm afraid it will be overlooked in the long run. It was announced just four days before C83 so few people reported the news, much less knew about it when they made their shopping list final. Because we all know you don't wanna go to Comiket without a plan. So, it feels to me as though there's very little hype around one of the most original releases of 2012.

Now I don't know if their ambitions are doujin-only, but packaged properly, this duo has what it takes to make it as big as アーバンギャルド on an international level. There's lots of people out there who prefer dark and twisted music, you just have to reach their ears. The dual male/female vocals make for great (and disturbing) dialogue situations. Unlike their contemporary squeaky clean peers SHAKING PINK, MilliRobo.beta aren't likely to get eroge OP offers with their dissonant and cacophonous style, nor is that something they would necessarily pursue. Live performances will also be few and far between if they happen at all.

But, along with distinctive art, one thing they already got right and that they should keep doing is pushing out videos. So far they have three of them out there, which is likely how most of their listeners to this day got to know them. If you haven't already, spend some time watching the deliciously tortuous 家想要塞メルヘン (animated!), 恋人サンディは明後日笑う and トテモトモタチ. Other than that, they'll have to rely on random buzz and word of mouth, which is what this fan hopes to accomplish with this article.

Everyone, spread the word about KuKuDoDo, beatlogic and MilliRobo.beta!

C82: beatlogic, SHAKING PINK, Zero-Shaft, とろ美 + more

This should be the last of our Comiket 82 preview posts, given that the event is just around the corner and that the Doujincore Group Import deadline is dangerously close. In true 電波の世界 fashion, we'll cram this entry with as much music as you can shake your paypal account at! Won't somebody think of the artists?

Let's start things off with a very special album. Beatlogic's 「eLekSoNicRusHeRRRRRR!!!」 was just announced a couple days ago, but it's already made a lasting impact on yours truly. I've played that crossfade a good dozen times and it's just as impressive each time! cello's debut album not only contains some fucked up electro-denpa, it tastefully crosses into hardcore punk rock on quite a few tunes. There has been some punk-ish denpa in the past, but nothing as intense as this. This dude's skills are truly outrageous! Not to mention the utterly sick cover, and a low price point of 500 yen.

As a reminder, you might also want to invest in his first published compilation album 『シュミックトリガ! -New wave of A-POP-』 which was released exactly one year ago. His one track there was a clear sign of things to come, but you'll also get to enjoy some bitching かめりあ and ぶっちぎりP tracks.

Is SHAKING PINK poised to become the next big thing in the world of virtual idol units? It's a little too early to say with just one single under their belt, but damn did ポヤッチオ assemble a dream team or what? We're talking ココ, ななひら and 桃箱 on vocals! Absolutely mind-boggling, but let's just hope they won't stop their sudden invasion at two songs. Well, they really only have one true original song, since the third track was already released by Master かたほとり in the past.

The second track comes from Child Prodigy かめりあ who delivers yet another stunning 萌え電波 concoction that is perfectly suited for SHAKING PINK. The first track is an intro, likely some amusing drama between the three splendid vocalists. At this point, all we can hope for is that this turns into more than just a one-off side-project, but until then we'll cheer on these ladies of denpa as they strive for the top!

Good old regular ZERO-SHAFT kinda remind me of おでんぱ☆スタジオ in a way... you can always count on them for something new! This time, they managed to announce their latest album before the event, which is always helpful when you're a import-dependant barbarian gaijin living 10,000 KMs away from Tokyo Big Sight. Mild sarcasm aside, their latest effort 「なつぴよ」 is as impressive as always, featuring an array of 20 vocalists and just as many staff members.

At first glance, these 13 songs might seem a little more mature, falling more in line with 「Zero-Shuffle」 than the previous "ちびロリっ!" albums. Rest assured, there's plenty of なゆ, ななひら, がきコ, ゆきまめ and りこ。 on these tracks! They're also backed by top-of-the-line composers such as task, 遥風啓司, しの and more. So what are you waiting for? Order this already, you know you want to!

Can we go three album previews in a row without mentioning how awesome ななひら is? Not today we can't! Fans of her vocaloid alter-ego will be delighted to hear about this new C82 mini-album 「ななみっくす!-nanamix-」 which features voices from both ななひら and 春歌ナナ!

All five of these brand new tracks were crafted by the following gentlemen: Master かたほとり, Child Prodigy かめりあ, Lord さつき が てんこもり, U-ske and 吉田省吾! The songs all sound energetic, but Satsuki's is particulary hard-hitting. What's more, track #3 「ロリングボール!」 has backup vocals from なゆ、桃箱 and りこ。 (be still my beating heart!) For more 春歌ナナ goodies, don't forget about 2011's 「なないずむ!」 which is still hot stuff.

Our Benevolent Queen とろ美 has deemed it fit to bestow us with another memorable album! If you feel like the above preview sounds familiar, that's because 「astromyu」 is entirely composed by おでんぱ☆スタジオ regulars ベイビー・レモネード (4 first tracks) and ひろて~! Remember that she recently provided guest vocals on one of their albums... don't know about you, but we're certainly loving this give-and-take attitude!

The five songs here are pretty straight-forward denpa, nothing pretentious or genre-bending. Just some good old とろ美 for what ails you. As usual, she provides her own cover art and this space odyssey themed jacket is certainly one for the ages. Until you can get your grubby hands on this album, download the crossfade MP3.

Last but certainly not least, akiba-pop giants MOSAIC.WAV will release their 8th single 「七三値≪ななみね≫ぱすかはダイスを振らない!」 on August 10th 2012, which is the first day of Comiket 82. Because this is a commercial release, we can't provide you with doujincore details. However, don't despair! The single has been made available for purchase via cdjapan which is as reliable as they come.

This new release marks the debut of character creation Nanamine Pasuka, who just won't roll the dice! As usual you can download short versions of all songs from the official Sham Studio website, including lyrics and various art samples. かやぴ's latest songs involve glitch, swing, honest-to-goodness chiptune and a return to space-pop. Yes, we keep saying this, but these are some of his best creations yet! Musically speaking, the guy has shown no signs of slowing down, still a genius, probably always will be one. Mi~ko is obviously getting more and more confortable as time goes by, unafraid to try new things but very much aware of her fanbase's needs. All signs point to another memorable MOSAIC.WAV single!

There are still many more albums worth your while (check out the denpa watchlist to your right), not to mention all the awesome J-Core (if you're into that) and various doujin games. What do you think, is this one of the best Comikets yet? What's on your list?

Although some of his songs were briefly mentioned in the past, consider this article a proper introduction to the work of かめりあ (aka cametek). He seems to have been active for a couple of years, with two 初音ミク albums self-produced within the past 10 months. The first one 『ハニージンジャーエール』 came out in late 2010, while 『TRIPPERS』 was released recently in May 2011. Sampling both albums as well as his nicovideo and soundcloud accounts should convince you of his various skills: drum and bass, dubstep, techno, trance, 8bit and even eurobeat!

But of course... this guy can also do denpa songs! He's pretty tight with our good buddy さつきがてんこもり, in fact they're collaborating on the debut major album 『ニコ生モラルハザード』 (more on that after C80). Earlier this year, the pair also tag-teamed the song 「恋色マジカルフライト」 on ForestPireo's 『Party Poche』. Finally, he's had multiple tracks on most of the fine CDs from Guunone Sounds. Now as luck would have it, cametek is featured on four Comiket 80 albums that we were already planning to cover and since his contributions are such standout tracks, he definitely earned today's spotlight!

First off, we have the ridiculously awesome 『シュミックトリガ! -New wave of A-POP-』 from the brand new circle beatlogic. What a great way to kick it into high gear right out of the gate! Tons of big cannons shooting loosely on this one, just check out this tracklist!
MAX VEGETABLE
P(azuma)
98 ~ The end of the known story / ぶっちぎりP
  6. MoFmOf Days! /
  10. HOME MADE HERO / Phasma
That's right, Satsuki's on here, DeadballP too. And even if the other names aren't as familiar to you (yet), just give them a shot! This is a surprisingly high-quality 初音ミク/電波ソング/A-POP compilation that honestly feels long overdue, unless you count 『HeartsNative』 by MOSAIC.WAV. Difference here is that this is still within the doujin realm and some of these songs are batshit insane! P and cello tracks in particular... man!
Next up is 『俺のチルノがこんなに天才なわけがない』 from ユウノウミ, also known as 夕野ヨシミ, aka the in-house IOSYS lyrical mistress (of doom). This is her fifth Touhou arrange album and much like the previous ones, there's a good mix of bonkers and softer songs (if you're into that). We're big fans of 未来派 and he's been on this series since the second album, so it's always good to get our fix. But the big news here is the fabulous opening track 「恋のパーフェクト微分方程式」 composed by かめりあ and performed by 山本椛 (momiji). It sounds like something ARM would come up with and that's probably the biggest compliment for an up-and-coming denpa composer these days. There's also a bit of eurobeat flavour which makes this track even more interesting.

天然ジェミニ is yet another IOSYS offshoot but we've covered them countless times in the past, so you know they're good! This time, they have two brand new albums for C80 and guess what? かめりあ is on both of them! Actually, he has two contributions on the "primary" release 『東方オールナイト幻想郷』 including opening track duties once again. He did work with them on 『東方マジカル☆コミカル』 so that explains his presence. Another repeat composer is Irus who brings in a harder edge, but he once worked with ななひら so he gets our eternal support!

What sets 『東方多目的多世界』 apart is that it's a 神波千尋-only album. Part of what makes 天然ジェミニ special is the constant exchange between the two girls and their frequent guests, yet this actually works better than you'd expect. Once again there's a good mix of denpa, rock, jazz and pop, so there's absolutely no reason fans of the duo would pass up this solo effort!

This concludes today's spotlight on かめりあ! These tracks are pretty impressive and definitely catchy, so we'll be keeping an eye on his future endeavours. We do have one more big article lined up before C80 hits this weekend so stay tuned! Remember to check out our Twitter feed @denpanosekai for the absolute bleeding edge news reports!
